Carina Claassens, digital editor, attended the launch of online stationery boutique Macaroon’s Christmas range and shares her favourites
It’s hard to believe but it’s true, the silly season is around the corner. Macaroon has once again teamed up with Tracy Paul to create a quirky range of Christmas gifts, wrapping and decor. This year’s theme is Give me an African Christmas and includes a collection of hand-illustrated African animals, each in fancy-dress.
“Our brief to Tracy Paul was that we wanted the animals to look as if they had popped in to an old fashioned photo booth and dressed themselves up! We hand selected a Macaroon “Big Five” – slightly different from the traditional African Big Five – and Tracy brought them to life with her usual magic.” says Macaroon’s co-owner and Design Director, Cheryl Liebenberg.
The Macaroon big five is made up of a rhino, porcupine, lion, zebra and a herd of elephant and the wide range includes gift tags, postcards, wrapping paper, notebooks, gift bags and much more.
There’s no excuse not to do your Christmas shopping early this year.
